I don't know if you know this about me, but I didn't go to school for photography. Everything I learned was from fellow photographers who were kind enough to tech me what they knew. The rest was self taught. So whenever the opportunity arises for me to help out an aspiring photographer, wether it be a mom who wants to take better pictures of her kids, or someone who wants to make photography their career, I always jump at the opportunity to help. I do not claim to know it all. But any nuggets of knowledge I can give, I give freely! This shoot was literally thrown together in a few hours. I was introduced to Richard through his aunt. We had been talking for a few weeks and I had seen his work. I was completely impressed with the way he could capture scenery. I tend to lack the eye unless there is a person in my viewfinder. He had a maternity shoot coming up and was unsure of where to take them. The Botanic Gardens are one of my favorite locations to shoot. The lighting is good and the scenery changes so much that you can get a wide variety of looks in the one location. It is a bit of a walk through, but I think it is worth it. Courtney was kind enough to step in for us so I could focus on helping Richard instead of being the subject. Her mom came along and the four of us had a great time together. Learning, laughing and capturing some beautiful images.
